Coach Daniel Price — Motlow State Basketball

From the Court
to the Sideline

Before he ever picked up a clipboard, Coach Daniel Price dominated the court. An NAIA All-American at the University of the Cumberlands, he took his game professional — competing in the NBA D-League, Mexico-FIBA Americas, the CBA, and the ABA.

But his true calling was developing others. Over 14+ years across 7 institutions, Coach Price has built programs from the ground up, turned rosters into championship contenders, and mentored 120+ student-athletes to succeed both on and off the court.

From building Simmons College's women's program to its first-ever winning record and NCCAA Final Four appearance, to helping Marshall University achieve the most wins since 1986-87, his impact is measured in banners, in players who become professionals, and in lives changed.

Coaching
Philosophy

A championship system built on defense, conditioning, and relentless preparation.

Defense First

The foundation of every championship team. Hold opponents under 60 points per game. Force 18+ turnovers. Make them earn every single possession.

<60 Opponent PPG Target

Relentless Offense

Push the pace, create chaos, capitalize in transition. The goal is 75+ points per game with 10+ fast break opportunities. Conditioning makes the speed sustainable.

75+ Scoring PPG Target

Total Development

Basketball is the vehicle, not the destination. Film study, nutrition guidance, community service, and time management are non-negotiable pillars of the program.

120+ Athletes Developed

Preparation Wins

Champions are made in practice. Intensive film sessions, detailed scouting reports, and conditioning that ensures the team is the strongest in the fourth quarter — every game.

18+ Forced Turnovers Target

Developing
Champions

Over 120 student-athletes coached and developed across 7 institutions. Players who became conference stars, All-Americans, professionals, and leaders in their communities.
