Before he ever picked up a clipboard, Coach Daniel Price dominated the court. An NAIA All-American at the University of the Cumberlands, he took his game professional — competing in the NBA D-League, Mexico-FIBA Americas, the CBA, and the ABA.
But his true calling was developing others. Over 14+ years across 7 institutions, Coach Price has built programs from the ground up, turned rosters into championship contenders, and mentored 120+ student-athletes to succeed both on and off the court.
From building Simmons College's women's program to its first-ever winning record and NCCAA Final Four appearance, to helping Marshall University achieve the most wins since 1986-87, his impact is measured in banners, in players who become professionals, and in lives changed.

Returned to his alma mater to begin his coaching career. Helped lead the team to a Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship.

Wore two hats — coaching on the court while revolutionizing the athletic department's media presence. Created the Thoroughbred Sports Network, increased program visibility by 46%, and secured Kentucky State's first Nike contract in the SIAC.

Built a premier athletic training facility from the ground up. Trained athletes across multiple sports and competition levels, combining professional playing experience with coaching expertise to develop the next generation.

Built the women's basketball program from scratch. Delivered the program's first winning record, reached the NCCAA Final Four in just the first full season, and won the NCCAA Mideast Regional Championship. Mentored his successor, who went on to win the program's first National Championship.

Helped engineer a historic turnaround. The Thundering Herd recorded the most wins since 1986-87, ranked #1-3 in NCAA in multiple statistical categories, and swept both the Sun Belt Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
